Terrifying Ink Post-It Notes Illustrations By John Kenn
Danish illustrator John Kenn writes and directs children’s television shows for a living. However, his artwork would make someone think otherwise. Using only a pen and post-it notes, Kenn has created numerous masterpieces that are reminiscent of monsters seen in a Tim Burton movie.
Kenn adds depth by varying thicknesses of lines. Considering the small space on a post-it note, he is able to provide vivid and realistic settings for his drawings. From trees to grass, attics to furniture, he can accurately mimic the natural swirling patterns seen in pieces of wood.
The monsters themselves vary from humanoids with weird bodies, to giant spider and bat-like creatures. Not all the creatures have a sinister agenda, in most cases they are just “hanging out.”
Kenn’s artwork is proof that one can do more than just take notes on post-its. With creativity and a steady hand, one can create the things that nightmares are made out of.
