They Just Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To

Vintage movie posters are an incredible example of inventive advertising. Before the days of movie trailers, the posters told the stories. It was the designer's job to appeal to our emotions in a few brief seconds. In so doing, some of the greatest movie posters were created before fantastic technological advances even existed.

The posters carried much more significance to the success of the film than today. Often numerous scenes were depicted on the same poster to mimic the flow of a theatrical trailer.
